Fantastic... I just bought an electromatic & love everything about it but the tuners, a google for upgrading gretsch tuners took me straight here and voila' Many thanks for posting (especially the caveats)

I am a guitar newbie. My guitar, bought online, came with locking tuners, 3 on each side of the headstock. Please advise as to the proper direction for turning the locking screw to tighten the string lock. Looking at the headstock from the back, are the left-side tuners (high strings) turned clockwise or counterclockwise to tighten? Ditto the right-side tuners (low strings). I know it's probably a silly question, but I'm mechanically challenged and I don't want to accidentally pop the string out of the tuner by turning the wrong way. Thanks!

I also have a Samick Korean 5120. I would love to see a video of how you added the end jack reinforcing plate!. The body split around the end jack is a common problem and I am sure others would also be interested in seeing how you teased enough of the jack threads out of the body to allow for the added thickness of the jack plate. Thanks in advance!

Looks good, I replaced my Bigsby with a USA B6C V type and it is much better. Also put on a roller bridge.

You're teaching people how to damage their guitars. The proper tool for this is a reamer not a drill bit.

I just bought Fender Sperzel locking tuners. 3 of the tuning posts are taller and the other 3 posts are shorter. Which 3 are used for the heavier strings and which 3 are used for the lighter gauged strings?

Place painter's tape(low adhesion) on the back side of what you're drilling - it will help with tear out. Or - use the tape and gently clamp a flat piece of wood to the backside of what you're drilling to really help with the tear out. Cheers

Hi, the bridge is not pinned or glued to the guitar, so it wil come of when removing the strings.

Hi, I play 0.12 cauge strings, and that made the temolo arm drop a bit because of the higher tension. The longer spring give the tremolo arm some lift.

Thanks for sharing your work. I have a 2 year old 5120, stock, and my next project is to drop in the TV Jones Classics.

Is there any benefit to changing the spring in the bigsby?

@BrianMorrison71 You might have a point there. Anyway, I am the kind of person that get things done. And i do gladely share my misstakes, so others can awoid them. The right or the wrong way, how to or how not to?, the tuners got installed by an amateur, and they work perfect, thats good enough for me ;-).
